“Love Live! Superstar!!” Anime Season 2 Delays Episode 8 to September 11 Due to COVID-19

NHK announced on Sunday that “Love Live! Superstar!!” anime season 2 is delaying episode 8 until September 11 due to production schedule changes caused by the spread of COVID-19. The “Love Live!” franchise’s official Twitter account added that it will stream a “special stage reading video and recap of season 2’s episodes 1-7” on YouTube on September 4.

In addition, a screening event that would have covered episodes 5 to 8 on September 9 will only cover episodes 5 to 7 instead.

The members of Liella! include:

  • Sayuri Date as Kanon Shibuya
  • Liyuu as Tang Keke
  • Nako Misaki as Chisato Arashi
  • Naomi Payton as Sumire Heanna
  • Nagisa Aoyama as Ren Hazuki

The first season of the Love Live! Superstar!! television anime premiered on NHK Educational in July 2021 and aired for 12 episodes.

The story is set in the Yuigaoka Private Girls High School that lies between the Omotesando, Harajuku, and Aoyama neighborhoods of Tokyo. The school was originally going to be demolished, only to have instead recently reopened to accept students. Within a school that has not made a name for itself, along with no history or accomplishments to speak of, Kanon Shibuya and four other first year students discover the existence of “school idols” and set out to let their voices be heard. They form a school idol group named Liella!, and aim to become superstars in their own right one day.
