“My Broken Mariko” (Mai Burōkun Mariko) Revealed New Teaser

The official website for the live-action adaptation of the manga “My Broken Mariko” from author Waka Hirako has posted a new teaser for the film, which is a scene of an accidental meeting between Shiino and Makio after Shiino’s bag is stolen.

The cast includes:

• Mei Nagano as the main character Shiino
• Nao as Mariko Ikagawa, Shiino’s best friend
• Masataka Kubota as Makio, a young man Shiino meets on her journey
• Toshinori Omi as Mariko’s father
• Yo Yoshida as Kyoko Tamura, Mariko’s father’s second wife

The film is directed by Yuki Tanada, with the script by Kosuke Mukai.

Shiino is a mean office assistant, but when her friend Mariko suddenly dies, she is determined to get to the bottom of this mystery. With the depiction of the soul connection between the girls, this is an outstanding story of sisterhood and romance.

“My Broken Mariko” premiered at the opening night of the 26th Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal on July 14, 2022, and will officially open on September 30, 2022. The film has won the Best Screenplay award at the film festival.
